Welcome to the Scottish Youth Football Association
This is the official information website of the Scottish Youth Football Association Limited (SYFA) – the national governing body of youth football in Scotland.
We are responsible for everyday, recreational, grassroots football from Orkney to Edinburgh, from Peterhead to Lockerbie and cover age groups up to and including 18s.
Leagues
The SYFA has over 20 member leagues for teams to join.
Wherever possible, teams should join a nearby league in their local area to avoid unnecessary travel.
Leagues may provide:
- small-sided games trophy-free programmes & festivals for children aged 5-12
- competitive league fixtures and cups for children aged 13+
They are responsible for the administration of all games within their league structure, including any disciplinary matters arising from fixtures.
Just like our clubs, leagues affiliate to the SYFA every year. As part of their affiliation, league officials agree to adhere to the SYFA’s rules, policies and procedures, ensuring compliance and consistency across the whole of our membership.
