UEFA Grassroots Week is here – and it’s time to celebrate the people who make our game happen!

From the first kick of a ball to the final whistle, grassroots football brings communities together, creates opportunities and helps young people develop a lifelong love of the game.

Across Scotland, our youth football clubs are at the heart of it all. Every week, dedicated coaches, volunteers, referees, parents, club officials and players give their time, energy and passion to keep the game moving.

Now it’s time to give them the recognition they deserve!

UEFA Grassroots Week takes place from Monday 21 to Sunday 27 September 2026, celebrating the people, clubs and communities that make football possible across Europe.

As part of the celebration, we’re encouraging all Scottish Youth FA clubs, leagues, partners and stakeholders to get involved and help showcase the fantastic work taking place across youth football in Scotland.

How can your club get involved?

Whether you’re celebrating a dedicated volunteer, recognising your coaches, showcasing your players, sharing a community initiative or highlighting what makes your club special, we want to see it!

Here are just a few ways to get involved:

• Celebrate the volunteers who give their time to your club.
• Shine a spotlight on your coaches and referees.
• Share photos and videos capturing the joy of youth football.
• Highlight the opportunities your club creates for young people.
• Tell us what makes your club and community special.
